We are officially past peak when it comes to the fall leaves, meaning most of the trees have turned colors, and especially near our house have already been blown off the trees. And between now and whenever it starts snowing is always a creepy time to me. There is something extremely haunting about the bare trees creeking in the wind. Leaves blowing all over the place.
And as hunting season has progressed, it has been feeling a bit more like The Road. A bunch of hillbillies running around with guns. Everytime I am walking in the woods and come across one I expect them to try and chase me down so they can eat me.
Luckily, The Village has always been more fitting for Marshfield, thanks in part to the Amish. And lack of cannibalism. It reminds me of the end of The Village especially, when Ivy has to go to the towns.
